Factory QC: Power Aging Test at TENSHANG LED Factory

Factory QC: Power Aging Test Process at TENSHANG — How Every LED Screen Survives 48–72 Hours of Burn-In Before Shipping
What Is a Power Aging Test — and Why Can't You Fake It?
A power aging test runs every finished LED cabinet at full or near-full load, continuously, for an extended period, cycling through stress test patterns. Its job is to trigger "infant mortality" failures — weak solder joints, marginal driver ICs, power supply drift, and pixel defects — while the screen is still under our roof, not on a customer's wall.
Industry data consistently shows that the burn-in stage catches the majority of early-life LED display failures before shipment. A genuine aging process leaves a paper trail: logged run hours, temperature and current readings, photos of test patterns, and rework records. That evidence is difficult to fabricate, which is why it remains one of the clearest signals separating a real factory from a trading company.
The TENSHANG Aging Standard: 48 Hours Indoors, 72 Hours Outdoors and Rental
At TENSHANG, the aging process is not a sample-lot procedure — it is applied to 100% of finished cabinets:
During the run, screens cycle through a fixed sequence: solid full white, pure red, pure green, pure blue, grayscale gradients, and moving video content. Each pattern is deliberate.
What We Monitor in Real Time
While the cabinets burn in, QC technicians log four core parameters around the clock:
- Pixel health — full white and single-color patterns expose dead pixels, bright dots, and darkened rows. Any anomaly pulls the cabinet off the line for rework and a full re-test.
- Brightness uniformity — measured with a luminance meter on the white screen; tolerance is held to ±5% of specification, so adjacent cabinets do not show visible brightness steps on site.
- Color temperature and white balance — white is verified at 6500K, with no pinkish or greenish tint drift between modules after 48–72 hours of heat soak.
- Power and thermal stability — current draw and cabinet surface temperature are logged continuously; drift outside the expected range flags a power supply or receiving-card issue before packaging.
Refresh-rate integrity is also spot-checked with high-speed camera capture, ensuring cabinets labeled as high-refresh (up to 3840Hz) actually perform as specified under camera — a common pain point on live events and broadcast shoots.
Aging Sits Inside a Three-Gate QC System
The aging room is the middle of a three-gate quality system, not a standalone inspection:
IQC (Incoming QC) — every batch of LED chips, driver ICs, power supplies, and die-cast aluminum cabinets is checked against its datasheet before SMT.
IPQC (In-Process QC) — sampling every two hours during assembly, covering AOI results, module flatness, connector torque, and cabinet finish (no scratches, dents, or loose screws).
OQC (Outgoing QC) — after aging, a final 100% pixel test, seam and gap check, and visual inspection before the cabinet enters reinforced export packaging.
A cabinet that fails any gate is reworked and returns to the gate it failed — it never skips ahead.
Why This Matters for Your Next LED Order
For integrators, rental houses, and brand owners sourcing from China, the practical question is simple: how much downtime are you willing to accept on a product that is supposed to run 12 hours a day, seven days a week? A rigorous aging process shifts that risk from your project schedule back onto the factory floor.
When you request a quote or a factory audit from TENSHANG, you are welcome to see the aging room in person or on a live video call. We share aging logs, test-pattern photos, and rework records with every export shipment — because a burn-in report you cannot inspect is not a burn-in report at all.
TENSHANG Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. is a Shenzhen-based LED display source factory with 20,000 m² of production space, around 300 employees, and annual export volume of approximately USD 50 million.
